How can one enjoy nerdy stuff yet not be a nerd.

Should I consider you a politician if you watch Jay Leno or Jimmy Falon? Should I consider you a stud that has sex with every woman on Earth if you watch Two and a Half Men?

That's all I needed to say. I'll stick to the guidelines in the future, I know there's a certain section about MLP that *APPARENTLY* falls into the same section as being a nerd, but I just wanted to get that off my chest and post it somewhere.

So now everyone who follows Internet memes can be officially called nerds? Then I guess people who play TF2 can be called nerds because they only obsessed over the game after it became popular (and F2P).
And it's not the actual show itself I truly obsess over, it's the content everyone else who watches it makes that's related to the show. The stuff they make is especially awesome. (Proof: Look up "DRESS.MOV" on Youtube.)

i'm confused as to why you are restricting "nerds" from being their nerdy self on the forum. what's wrong with being a nerd? nobody here (that i know of) is discussing education and how we should all be in school and studying during every moment of our lives. just because i really like, for example, super mario bros. and i know everything about the game(s) does that mean i'm a nerd because i'm educated on the subject? would that in turn mean everybody on the forum is a nerd because they are interested/educated in one particular subject? if "nerds" wanna talk about mlp or tf2 or WoW or skyrim or ANYTHING, why should we restrict them? i'm just wondering

i don't wanna add fuel to the fire, i just wanna put it out. if you could just clarify what your definition of a nerd is and what made you decide to make a rule about them, that would help, i think :]

The reason why i made this site is to make a community free of the obnoxious people that ttc is made out of. That's mainly strict mods, young nooby extremely immature people, and nerds. Nerds quite scare me as they show how low life can go, and they're essentially wasting their life doing nothing but constantly complain about how they have no friends.

Of course, I did get in a car crash that made me inactive for a few months... So it might not be very accurate.

I've actually been tempted to leave this site a few times.
I feel a bit unwelcome when half of a site's members hate my guts (or at least things I like) and give anybody that comments negatively on it positive rep.

I've never complained about not having friends, as long as I can remember.
If I've complained about that before, it was probably when I was in middle school with a bunch of brats. And I can very well understand why he's hating on me badly.
As for the reason why Tom isn't very happy of my presence, well... From what I can recall, I'm lucky I was even invited into this site (I think it was because another friend of mine wasn't going to join until I was allowed on). Tom didn't want me in at all because I am what is known to the Internet community as a "brony". Bronies have a bit of bad rep on the Net, very much like furries, noobs, etc, you get the point.
If I'm assuming correctly, Tom has probably linked bronies to one of the many reasons why TTC is such a noob-infested stinkhole with mods that ban on sight and, therefore, determined that if he wants his site to remain a good, noob-free environment, he should make sure the topic is never brought up with the threat of the "Nerd" usertag (or a warning).
So, long story short, I can guess that I'm probably being prejudged for the fact that I watch a TV show. Heck, I couldn't even blink before I was assigned the user title "My Little PWNY". :/ (I mean, sure, I post way too much of it, but if the complaining stopped and the topic stopped being brought up, I'd probably stop mentioning it.)

I know you did, but I'm just sayin'. I bet the only thing I'm known for on this site is "LOL HE'S A BRONY". Not for the fact that I want to write programs, or of my papercrafting hobby. Not for my ability to play music on a trumpet (and pretty well from what I can tell). Not for the time I spent on TTC Times, or TTC itself. Not for the hilarious conversations we've had on Yahoo in the past.

I'm only known for one thing: a TV show. How pathetic.
I wasn't even the one that started out talking about it. I was keeping my posts 100% pony-free, then I start seeing everyone else posting it and I thought to myself "Da fuck?"

Basic thing is: dont post MLP or mention it and we will get along well
